Founded by architect René Hougaard, Danish design studio ARDE is on a mission to drive sustainable change through purposeful, minimalistic design. Each product’s circular lifecycle and durability is carefully considered throughout the design process, from the product’s initial prototyping stages to its production and use. Through its focus on sustainability, ARDE strives to create furniture that’s not only aesthetically exceptional, but also leaves a positive impact on the world.

Our first collaboration with ARDE will be introduced Spring 2021.

How do Scandinavian design principles impact your work?

Surely, my heritage from the Scandinavian tradition allows me to eliminate what’s unnecessary to identify the essential.

How are you, as a designer, using your work for positive change?

Designers and architects have a big responsibility when it comes to creating positive change for the future, and I take this responsibility very serious. Consumption and buildings have a huge environmental impact, so it’s crucial to make responsible decisions in the design process.
